Businessman and Entrepreneur

Glenn Nøstdahl is a professional businessman and entrepreneur who is currently the Financial Strategy Manager at Entecho, a designer and developer of flight technology.

He is also an active runner and cyclist who has found riding a bicycle on a regular basis is a great way to stay physically fit. Riding a bike is a great form of aerobic exercise, which means it boosts the heart rate and strengthens muscles, increases joint mobility, and can reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injury. But more to the point, Glenn Nøstdahl knows that riding a bike is a lot of fun.

Studies have shown that people who ride even short distances can boost their overall health and even extend their normal life expectancy. And is can keep the body lean: as Glenn Nøstdahl knows, riding a bike for just one hour will burn about three hundred calories, depending on how strenuous the ride is. That’s just about equal to the calories in a chocolate bar. So by riding a bike for just fifteen minutes every day, five times a week, is going to burn off about eleven pounds of fat in the course of a year.

Cycling can also reduce stress, which is another point in its favor, according to Glenn Nøstdahl, whose professional life can be very stressful at times. The physical exertion itself tends to reduce stress, but as Glenn Nøstdahl knows, riding a bike outdoors heightens the overall experience. The sense of being at one with nature, and being away from the office, enhances the ability of bike riding to reduce stress.

Cycling is one of those things you are always able to do, and Glenn Nøstdahl expects he’ll be riding a bike for the rest of his life.

Glenn Nøstdahl is the Financial Strategy Manager at Entecho, a leader in producing innovative flight technology, including flight control avionics and software, composite technology, and Computational Fluid Dynamic analysis.

He is also an active outdoorsman who loves nothing more than hitting the slopes to get in some ski time. Since his days in his native Norway, Glenn Nøstdahl has relished the sensation of gliding down the side of a mountain, surrounded by snowcapped peaks; he says that it is one of the great pleasures of his life, and that there is nothing else quite like it.

It is not uncommon for Glenn Nøstdahl to find himself out skiing with those with a lot less experience than he has. He urges them to hit the bunny hill first, those easy, gently sloping beginner hills, where the novice skier can get a sense of what it is like to be on skis. He reminds the true beginners to take it slow at first and to wear a helmet, because chances are they will fall down more than once until they get the feel of it.

There are a lot of things to have on hand for a day on the slopes that might not occur to a beginner, such as sunglasses and sunscreen. Skiers always need them during the day, says Glenn Nøstdahl, but they are especially important on sunny days, when the glare off of bright white snow can be blinding, and exposed skin can burn just as easily as if it were a day at the beach during summer.

He is a great believer in safety first, and says that the most important skill to learn is how to slow down and stop. Skiers who are unable to control their speed pose a safety hazard to themselves and to those around them. The easiest way to control speed and stop is a position called a snowplow, where the skis are in a V position.

Glenn Nøstdahl is an experienced businessman and entrepreneur who has guided large companies and won the distinction of being the youngest director of a listed company in Norway, which he achieved in 2009.

At present, Glenn Nøstdahl is the Financial Strategy Manager at Entecho, where he is responsible for contacts with investors, and for the company’s strategic plans. Entecho is a leader in innovative flight technology. Glenn Nøstdahl did not come to the firm until early in 2014, by which time Entecho had established itself with its unique flight technology.

As the company’s Financial Strategy Manager, Glenn Nøstdahl is responsible for guiding the company to its business objectives, and maximizing its value. He manages its assets, liabilities, revenues, cash flow and profitability. He is also responsible for making sure the company stays on track for achieving both short-term and long-term goals, while at the same time maximizing value for Entecho shareholders. As he knows from experience, short-term goals are occasionally sacrificed in order to stay on track for meeting long-term objectives.

In addition to his responsibilities at Entecho, Glenn Nøstdahl has for three years been the owner of GN Power AS. This is a Norwegian investment company that is focused primarily in three areas: energy, property, and shares.

During the course of his career, Glenn Nøstdahl has built up a telecom company that was sold to Telenor, which is the national telecommunications company in Norway. He has also worked, for many years, in the energy industry at the management level.
